Mumbles, Swansea, Sleeps Six 

A Victorian mansion with real history! Designed and built in the 1860s by Benjamin Bucknall, a highly regarded Victorian architect known for his Gothic Revival masterpieces. From its stone arches to its gables and original fireplaces, this home reflects the beauty and drama of a bygone era.

Referred to by the architectural historian John Newman in his writing writing The Buildings of Wales: Glamorgan as:

“a full-blooded Gothic house retaining original character, by an exceptional regional architect.”

We hope you enjoy your stay in this remarkable house, where craftsmanship, history, and coastal beauty come together in a truly unique setting. 

Where you will stay

You will be stayingg on the lower ground floor in what was originally the house kitchens and domestic staff offices. Your entrance is through the former courtyard and now very private space where the house provisions were originally accepted. The original French doors in your living room will open out onto a private and enclosed garden laid to lawn and suitable for a variety of garden games or relaxing. This property is South facing.
